Tency A. Eason is a native of North Carolina. She graduated from Central High School and migrated to the North. She graduated from Caldwell College with a degree in Business Administration. She is a member of the St. Matthew A.M.E. Church in Orange and is growing in her Christian experience.
Tency worked for Verizon and AT&T for 34 years. Currently, Tency is employed by the East Orange School District. On May 9, 2006, she was elected to her 2nd term as Councilwoman of the North Ward and on July 1, 2006, she was elected Council President. She was elected Council Vice-President July 2008 and re-elected to Council President July 2011.
Tency has always been active in the Orange Community and the Orange School District. She truly believes that everyone should be involved in their community and in the education of their children. She is currently President of the St. Matthew A.M.E. Flower Club and the Orange PTA/PTO District Officers Council, Vice President of the Cleveland Street PTO, Unit Commissioner for Orange Hills District Boy Scouts of America, Treasurer of the Big "O" Booster Club, former President of the Cleveland Street PTO, former Chairperson of the ABC Board and the Orange Planning Board and a member of Friends of the Library.
Tency really loves the City of Orange and is always striving to improve the quality of life for the children and adults/residents. Tency resides in Orange with her husband, Isaac. She is the proud mother of two sons, two daughter-in-laws and six grandchildren.
