MESSAGE FROM THE City of Orange
The Importance of Waste Recycling

Dear Orange Township Residents:

Each resident of Orange generates a substantial amount of waste everyday.  recycling savesIn a year, this totals many millions of tons.  As the amount of trash being thrown away each year increases, so does the cost to collect it, haul it and landfill it. With landfill capacity everywhere dwindling and, at the same time dumping fees increasing, recycling is the best way to reduce waste, stretch our resources and maintain a reasonable refuse collection rate.

As an Orange resident, you are an integral part of the Township’s Recycling Program.  Recycling uses only a small amount of space and requires only a few seconds a day.  We must continue to recycle--we can no longer afford NOT to so.

Not only do you help preserve resources by recycling, but you also save tremendous amounts of money in the long-runEvery ton you recycle is a ton you don’t have to pay to throw out.

Keeping the City of Orange Township clean and beautiful is a goal we all want to achieve.  We can and should strive toward this aim not only because it is the law in the State of New Jersey, but because it is the right thing to do! Every little bit helps and collectively, we can accomplish so much.

Let’s demonstrate a sense of pride in our community!

Sincerely,
The Orange Department of Public Works
