Value Mart Pharmacy Joins Orange $2.00 Prescription Drug Plan

The Value Mart Pharmacy at 314 Main Street has joined the E & M Pharmacy at 325 Henry Street in participating in OrangeRx-Generic, Orange’s $2 Prescription Drug Plan.

Under this program, Orange works with local pharmacy partners to provide a formulary of over 400 generic medications at $2 for a 30-day supply. This option is open to individuals regardless of insurance status. To participate, Orange residents may visit one of the two participating pharmacies.(See attached formulary list and flyer)

The City of Orange Township under the leadership of Mayor Eldridge Hawkins, Jr. has partnered with the Heinz Family Foundation to create two new patient assistance programs and discount prescriptions to uninsured Orange residents. Orange is the fourth city in America to be chosen to participate in the discount program. The programs are OrangeRx and OrangeRx-Generic.

The OrangeRx-Generic program is different from the OrangeRx patient assistance program that connects residents with a year of free brand-name prescription medications. To qualify for free medications, patients must not have prescription insurance coverage. They must also meet income guidelines, which are typically around 200% of the federal poverty level ($21, 660 for an individual; $44, 100 for a family of four).  Individuals without legal residency status may be eligible.
