Mayor Hawkins invites citizen involvement in shaping municipal budget. Announces schedule of budget hearings.

Statement by Mayor Eldridge Hawkins, Jr.

“With cuts in state aid, layoffs, and reorganization of departments, citizen involvement in the budget process is more important than ever this year. I urge Orange residents to become involved in helping to shape the budget for Fiscal Year 2011.

I invite you to become informed by visiting the Orange website at http://www.ci.orange.nj.us. On the website, you will find links to the following:

1. The Draft Budget Summary
2. A video of the January 11th Budget Forum where department heads described the budget’s impact on their departments
3. My Budget Message and remarks at the Budget Forum
4. The Schedule of Budget Hearings held by the City Council and the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee

Thursday, March 10th.: Municipal Court, Law, Police”
